This is the first of a series of images I made in the buildings of an old abandoned military hospital facility in Antwerp, just before it was torn down to make room for real estate development.
This one was made in the basement. Clearly the gas supply has been disconnected.
While I was wandering around in the basement I was struck by the beautiful soft natural light entering the room from the right.

I really enjoyed producing these images. Going by the reactions I received, I might explore other subject matter though.
I don't know where the inspiration for this one came from but I suddenly had the urge to shoot myself...
...as in self-portrait.
It might not seem much but quite some processing went into this one.

I've been reading a lot of David Hobby's articles on Strobist.com lately.
He has a ton of useful information on lighting.
He also started a new lighting tutorial this week, called Lighting 102, which I will be participating in.
This is a self-portrait inspired by a) the strobist group on Flickr and b) Jack Shephard's eternal 5 o'clock shadow in Lost.
